A SCIENCE WALK

WHEN GEESE FLY

A thought-provoking assembly led us to consider how we can learn so much from nature and in this case from geese: geese have a common direction and know where they are going. They communicate with one another when they are changing flight direction, and when one goose is injured two will follow it down to care for it. They travel on the strength of one another and accept help when needed. Working together they have 71% greater flying range so there is greater productivity. They work together as a team and each goose takes turns leading in the front so the management is shared. How marvellous is nature!
