At the start of the academic year, each class from Transition to Year 6, votes for who they would like to be their representatives for the school council. The elected two girls are then part of The School Council for that year.

Each term the councilors chair a meeting with their class where they discuss school life and brainstorm ideas for future improvements and events. The councilors then take these ideas to a council meeting where suggestions are discussed across the year groups and ideas are voted on. Minutes from these meetings are then shared with the headmistress who deliberates over the proposed initiatives.

Being a councilor is a revered position with some degree of power and as such the girls enjoy the role. It helps prepare girls for adulthood through involvement in a democratic process as well as making an important contribution to school life.
